Course License

Single-user course license. Version 1.0, effective October 2026.

This is the license for The Cinematic Website Complete Course. Buying the course means you accept it, so it’s here to read before you buy. A copy is at the end of the course PDF, and it’s also available as a plain-text file.

Important

This license explains how you may use The Cinematic Website Complete Course. It lets one person learn from the course and use it to build real websites, for themselves and for paying clients, while the course itself stays private.

By purchasing, downloading, or using the course, you agree to this license. If you do not agree, do not use the course.

This is a license to use the course. It does not sell or transfer Tide’s copyright or any other rights.

1. Definitions

“Tide” means Tide Social Studio, which makes and licenses the course.

“You” means the person or organization that buys the course.

“The Learner” means the one person who may use the course under this license. If you buy it for yourself, the Learner is you. If an organization buys it, the organization names one person as the Learner.

“The Course” means the version of The Cinematic Website Complete Course that you bought and everything delivered with it: the thirteen chapters, the prompt library, the three worksheets, the launch checklist, the troubleshooting guide, the resource list, and the examples, screenshots, and illustrations.

“Course Materials” means Tide’s original text, prompts, worksheets, checklists, examples, illustrations, and layout in the Course, in any copy, extract, edit, translation, or other format. Course Materials do not include general ideas, techniques, or skills.

“Your Work” means the websites, code, text, designs, and other material that the Learner, or an AI assistant the Learner directs, creates while following the Course, apart from any Course Materials copied into it.

2. What you may do

Tide gives you a nonexclusive, worldwide, nontransferable license for the Learner to:

  1. read and use the Course on devices and private storage accounts the Learner controls, and keep private backup copies;
  2. use the prompts and worksheets, as written or edited, in the Learner’s own projects and private AI conversations;
  3. print the worksheets and the checklist for the Learner’s own use;
  4. build, launch, and maintain websites for yourself, your business, and your clients, with no limit on the number of sites, clients, or projects; and
  5. charge any fee for the websites and services you provide.

Tide claims no share of what you charge. The license lasts for the version you bought, unless it ends under section 9. It does not include future versions or support unless Tide offers them in writing.

3. One license, one person

One license covers one Learner, who may use the Course on several devices. Every other person who uses the Course, such as a business partner, employee, contractor, virtual assistant, or client, needs a license of their own. The license may not be shared, rotated, or transferred between people.

4. Your websites and your clients

You own Your Work, subject to the rights of others in what you use, such as an AI assistant’s terms and any fonts, images, or code libraries you add. Tide claims no ownership of the websites you build.

You may hand a finished website, with its code, files, and accounts, to the client it was built for. The client may use, change, and keep that website without a license from Tide.

You may not give a client, or anyone else, the Course, the prompt library, the worksheets, the checklist, or other Course Materials.

You may show websites you built in your portfolio and in proposals.

5. AI assistants

The Learner may paste the prompts into an AI assistant, and share project files with it, in a private account or conversation while working. Review and test what the assistant produces before you publish it.

You may not place the Course, or any substantial part of it, in a public or shared AI assistant, custom GPT, prompt library, knowledge base, or dataset. You may not use it to build, train, or teach a competing course or product.

6. What you may not do

Except as sections 4 and 5 allow, you may not, in whole or in part, in its original form or edited:

  1. share, sell, resell, rent, lend, give away, post, or upload the Course or Course Materials, including to a shared drive, a public website, a file-sharing link, a community, a group chat, or a membership;
  2. make a product for others from the Course Materials, such as a course, workshop, ebook, guide, template, checklist, prompt pack, or coaching program;
  3. remove Tide’s copyright or license notices; or
  4. present the Course or Course Materials as your own, or use Tide’s name or logo to suggest that Tide endorses you.

You may use and teach the general skills and ideas you learn, in your own words. That does not include copying Tide’s text, prompts, worksheets, checklists, or examples.

7. Third-party services

The Course explains services that other companies run, including AI assistants such as Claude and services such as GitHub, Vercel, Resend, Polar, Cloudflare, and domain registrars. Each has its own terms, prices, features, and availability, which can change after the Course was written. Your use of them is between you and each company. Their names and logos belong to their owners, and the Course does not suggest that they endorse Tide.

8. Responsibilities and disclaimers

You are responsible for your websites and accounts: their code, content, security, accessibility, privacy notices, and payments, and their compliance with the laws and platform rules that apply to you. Code written by an AI assistant can contain mistakes, so review and test it before you rely on it.

The Course is educational. It is not legal, tax, financial, or security advice. Tide does not guarantee traffic, sales, or any other result.

To the extent the law allows, the Course is provided “as is,” without warranties, and Tide is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, data, or business. Tide’s total liability for the Course is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in this license limits a right that the law does not allow to be limited.

9. Refunds and ending the license

Payment, delivery, and refunds follow the purchase terms shown before checkout. Downloads are delivered instantly, so there are no refunds for a change of mind; a faulty or misdescribed file is made right or refunded within 14 days, as the Terms say. That does not shorten any right the law gives you.

Tide may end this license if you break it and do not put it right within 14 days of written notice, or at once if you deliberately resell or publicly share the Course. You must then stop using the Course and delete your copies. Websites already built and delivered are not affected.

10. General terms

This license includes Tide’s Terms at tidesocialstudio.com/terms. If the two differ about how you may use the Course, this license controls. Personal information is handled under Tide’s Privacy Policy at tidesocialstudio.com/privacy.

Virginia law governs this license, subject to the protections that apply where you live. You may not transfer this license. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Later changes to this license apply to later purchases, unless you accept them for an earlier one.
